WHAT'S HAPPENING?
MyGaTech/Zimbra, OIT data center network switches, webhosting on web-plesk2, and the GTED firewall will undergo maintenance.

WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
MyGaTech: Saturday, February 18, 2012, from 5:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

OIT data center network switches: Saturday, February 18, 2012, from 5:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Webhosting on web-plesk2: Saturday, February 18, 2012, at 5:00 AM.

GTED firewall: Saturday, February 18, 2012, from 5:00 AM to 7:00 AM.

WHY IS IT HAPPENING?
OIT is performing routine software updates on MyGaTech and the data center network switches. OIT is cleaning up GTED firewall settings. The webhosting server web-plesk2 is being migrated from the Rich data center to the BCDC data center.

WHO IS AFFECTED?
Users of MyGaTech/Zimbra services, including BuzzPort users, who try to access email or group/course calendars. People who send email to users of MyGaTech/Zimbra may receive a mail delivery delayed message during this maintenance. No users should be affected by the network switch upgrades. However, this is the first full test of the new data center redundancy, and any disruption of the data center networks could affect multiple OIT services. No one should be affected by the GTED firewall settings cleanup, but the changes could affect application-to-gted communication. For the web-plesk2 migration, downtime will be minimal, but the service will run in a degraded state until approx. 10:00 AM.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
Zimbra Outlook users will be prompted and will need to upgrade to the new ZCO following this maintenance. Email sent to MyGaTech/Zimbra users during the period of this outage will be queued in the central systems and delivered after the system is in operation again. Users of applications that communicate with GTED can test their applications before the change. Change your ldap settings from r.gted.gatech.edu:389 to r.gted.gatech.edu:390 OR from r.gted.gatech.edu:636 to r.gted.gatech.edu:641. If your application works with these settings, it will work after the cleanup.
