WHEN DID IT HAPPEN?
Saturday April 24 and Sunday April 25, 2010.


WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
The Solstice backup service declared the index files to be corrupt and the index check process hung.


WHO WAS AFFECTED?
CoC faculty and graduate students with UNIX home directories. Data was not backed up for April 24 and 25, 2010, therefore no restores from that time period can be processed.


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
No user action is required.


HAS THE PROBLEM BEEN RESOLVED?
Yes. The databases were manually checked on the morning of Monday, April 26 and the service restarted. It is again fully operational.
