WHAT’S HAPPENING?

OIT has begun implementing changes to how mail is handled to enhance security and ensure reliable mail delivery. TSO is making some adjustments to CoC email services as needed.

WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?

December 1st, 2025, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.

WHY IS IT HAPPENING?

From OITs announcement:
The University System of Georgia has set a December 31st deadline on implementing critical email security capabilities for Georgia Tech domains.

OIT has already implemented some of these changes.

Beginning December 16 –There will be Stricter Filtering

  • Email that fails certain checks will now be blocked instead of delivered.
  • At this point, 75% of failing email will be sent to Junk rather than the inbox.

December 30 – Even Stricter Filtering

  • All failing email will now be sent to the Junk folder.

WHO IS AFFECTED?

All users who have service using the CoC email infrastructure.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?

Contact TSO Help Desk if:

  • You start experiencing email bounces.
  • You notice an increase in emails going to Junk. It is best practice to regularly check your junk folder.
