WHEN DID IT HAPPEN?

September 9, 2014, from approximately 5:00 PM to 6:05 PM.

WHY DID IT HAPPEN?

Intentional resets of several campus border firewalls resolved the issue, but the root cause is still under investigation.

WHO WAS AFFECTED?

Faculty, students, and staff trying to use GT campus networks during the above noted time period.

HAS THE PROBLEM BEEN RESOLVED?

Yes.  As stated, OIT resolved the immediate problem by resetting campus border firewalls, but the root cause is currently unknown.
