New logins to login.gatech.edu (CAS) were failing.

Between 2:05 PM and 2:45 PM, Tuesday, June 11, 2013.


WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
A firewall configuration error.


WHO WAS AFFECTED?
Users attempting to login to campus services dependent upon CAS during the outage period (existing logins were unaffected).  Affected services included the following.

Affected services:
BuzzPort
MyGaTech/Zimbra
Techworks


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
No user action is required.


HAS THE PROBLEM BEEN RESOLVED?
Yes. OIT located and corrected the firewall configuration error.
