UPDATE: System diagnostics completed successfully and the samba server has returned to full operation.

WHAT’S HAPPENING?

The samba server (ccsamba), which serves network home directories, is currently down due to the systems patching maintenance which occurred this morning. 

Affected servers:

holder.cc.gatech.edu

WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?

Beginning at approximately 8:00 AM and is ongoing.  UPDATE: Diagnostics completed successfully and service was restored as of 11:00 AM on Monday, August 10, 2015.

WHY IS IT HAPPENING?

Upon reboot, the system initiated drive diagnostics, which need to complete before a full boot can be accomplished.

WHO IS AFFECTED?

All CoC faculty, staff, and students who use ccsamba home directories.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?

No user action is required.  Please be patient while the system diagnostics occur.  This notice will be updated once the service is back.
