On April 25, 2008, at 12:25, while troubleshooting an issue with YP, firewall rules for the .6 subnet were uploaded using the script from OIT. Following this upload, we received reports that email.cc.gatech.edu was unavailable. While investigating, it was discovered that the script had removed the rules for email.cc.gatech.edu from the firewall.

OIT was contacted. Their staff ran a different version of the script, which added the rules for email.cc.gatech.edu back into the firewall. Connectivity was restored and email.cc.gatech.edu was again available at 12:55 PM.
