WHAT’S HAPPENING?
The KACB will be without network connectivity.
WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
On Thursday, August 9, 2012, from 5:00 AM to 7:00 AM.
WHY IS IT HAPPENING?
TSO will upgrade the KACB core networking switch. This will cause all KACB computers to lose network connectivity while the upgrade is taking place.
WHO IS AFFECTED?
Users attempting to use network resources in the KACB.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
Affected users should save their work prior to the maintenance and be prepared for service interruption during the maintenance period. Some affected users may need to reboot their workstations if their home directories do not successfully remount following the maintenance.
WHO SHOULD YOU CONTACT FOR QUESTIONS?
TSO Help Desk (CCB 148, 404.894.7065, helpdesk@cc.gatech.edu).
UPDATE:
The network maintenance ran over the scheduled window. Following the upgrade, part of the router’s configuration became corrupted which affected networking for some computers in CCB, KACB, and TSRB. Most internal connectivity was restored by 7:30 AM and external connectivity was restored by 9:00 AM, August 9. At 9:30 AM all router interfaces were moved to the KACB router, which resolved the routing issues between the KACB and CCB routers.
