TSO will update McAfee Antivirus to the latest version on TSO-managed Windows workstations.


WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
Tuesday, October 25, 2011, between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM.


WHY IS IT HAPPENING?
Support for v8.5 is nearing end of life. Also, an emergency patch for v8.7 issued last Thursday is causing issues for some users.


WHO IS AFFECTED?
No users should be affected. The install is silent and does not require a reboot.


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
No user action is required. Some users may see a message popup about antivirus being disabled during the update. It may be safely ignored unless it persists beyond the maintenance period.
