WHAT’S HAPPENING?
The GT Institute Communications team (GTIC) will enact a "content freeze" for the Mercury system. This means that any content (news, events, etc.) already in Mercury will remain available for your websites to display. During this time, however, you will not be able to log in to the Mercury site and cannot add new or change existing content.
WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
The freeze will begin at 9:00 AM on Friday, September 23, and is scheduled to end at 12:00 PM on Monday, September 26, 2016.
WHY IS IT HAPPENING?
The content freeze will allow GTIC to move Mercury to a server that can better handle large amounts of content and traffic. GTIC will also upgrade to a newer version of the underlying software during this time.
WHO IS AFFECTED?
Anyone who uses the Georgia Tech Mercury content syndication system (http://drupal.gatech.edu/handbook/news-and-events-mercury).
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
Ensure your calendars have all important content entered and updated in Mercury prior to 9:00 AM on Friday, September 23, 2016.
WHO SHOULD YOU CONTACT FOR QUESTIONS?
Feel free to contact the TSO Help Desk (CCB 148, 404.894.7065, helpdesk@cc.gatech.edu). If you prefer, you may contact the OIT Technology Support Center (404-894-7173, support@oit.gatech.edu).
UPDATE: Due to some unexpected challenges during the system upgrade, GTIC announced that the Mercury content freeze has been extended until 9:00 AM Tuesday, September 27, 2016.
