TSO will retire and permanently power off the general access Solaris servers listed below.

On Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at 9:00 AM.


WHY IS IT HAPPENING?
As part of the long-term goal to migrate services off of older Sun SPARC hardware to newer Intel hardware.


WHO IS AFFECTED?
Users of the gaias. The functionality of the gaias has been replaced by the newer killerbee cluster (see http://support.cc.gatech.edu/facilities/general-access-servers for details).


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
Users of the gaias should begin using the killerbees. If users discover needed software is not installed on the killerbees, they should send email to helpdesk@cc.gatech.edu.
