WHAT HAPPENED?
One of OIT's VMPS servers experienced a hardware failure, which resulted in network instability in KACB and on the 2nd floor of CCB.
WHEN DID IT HAPPEN?
Friday, November 11, 2016 at 3:00 PM until Monday, November 14, 2016 at 11:15 AM.
WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
A hardware failure caused the VPMS server to go down. The core network switch then failed to successfully route to the correct redundant VMPS server.
WHO WAS AFFECTED?
Users on computers in the affected areas that were not on LAWN.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
No user action is required.
HAS THE PROBLEM BEEN RESOLVED?
Yes. TSO redirected the affected switches to the correct redundant VMPS server.
