TSO will shut down the servers in the TSRB MDF Data Center.


WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
Beginning at 8:00 PM, Thursday, July 7, 2016.  


WHY IS IT HAPPENING?
Due to nearby construction work, the City of Atlanta will shut off water to TSRB beginning at 9:00 PM on July 7.  With the water shut off, the supplemental AC units in the MDF cannot be run, which will cause the temperature in the MDF to rise to an unsafe level for powered-on servers.  Water service and cooling is expected to be restored by 7:00 AM, Friday, July 8, 2016.  TSO will begin turning servers back on at 7:00 AM and expects to have all affected servers returned to service by 9:00 AM, July 8.


WHO IS AFFECTED?
CoC faculty, staff, and students attempting to use the affected servers. Users of svn.cc.gatech.edu.
