WHAT HAPPENED?
Office 365 web applications, including Outlook Web Access (OWA), are inaccessible from some CoC networks.
WHEN DID IT HAPPEN?
First reported at approximately 9:00 PM on January 1, 2017, and ongoing.
WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
There was an unannounced change to the campus Active Directory (AD) configuration which affected DNS resolution of the ad.gatech.edu domain while connected to some wired CoC networks and the CoC VPN. This interrupted connectivity to Office 365 web applications because the authentication server, fs.ad.gatech.edu, became unreachable.
WHO WAS AFFECTED?
Any CoC users attempting to connect to Office 365 web applications while on the CoC VPN, and some wired networks.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
No user action is required.
HAS THE ISSUE BEEN RESOLVED?
No. TSO is actively working with OIT to affect resolution. This notice will be updated once further details are available.
