WHAT’S HAPPENING?

The Network Team will be performing a series of gateway router, border firewall, and ISP connection upgrades and migrations. OIT expects multiple intermittent outages lasting 10 minutes during the maintenance window.

Saturday, April 20th from 12am - 6am

WHY IS IT HAPPENING?

The current gateway routers for GaTech (Juniper MX960s) are 12 years old. OIT is upgrading to new routers (Junipers MX304s), which have a higher port density, are more reliable, and are less costly to maintain. The increased port density will allow OIT to add more redundant links, which should reduce downtime during future maintenances. During the April 20th maintenance, OIT will upgrade GaTech's ISP connections from 2 - 100gig links to 2 - 400gig links.

 

WHO IS AFFECTED?

Anyone requiring network connectivity to and from campus during the maintenance window.
